Phonickids was established in 2007 by ShainazJussa, a Professional Jolly Phonics Trainer and with over 15 years of experience on the Jolly Phonics Methodology. Prior to starting Phonickids, Shainaz trained on Phonics at a local playschool and even prior to that volunteered as a Phonics teacher at two schools in the UK.
Phonickids focuses on helping Kindergarten children read English, improve their vocabulary, memory, spelling and overall language skills, resulting in building the child’s overall personality and setting a strong foundation for a brighter & fulfilling future.
Reading, if developed between the ages of 3-4 years, results into a firm skill enabling the child to enjoy reading and develop it into a habit.
Reading acquired during this stage enhances the child’s ability to grasp and assimilate knowledge much faster, a skill essential to excel in academics later on in life.
Phonickids was the first institution in India that started offering courses primarily on practicing the Phonics technique. This has enabled Phonickids to demonstrate a very high success rate in achieving its aim of ensuring that every Phonickids student is able to read significantly better compared to what they would have learnt in their day-schools.
Phonics, although is part of the curriculum of a few public and private schools in India, is not taught correctly and hence majority of kids continue to develop their reading habits much later.
Phonickids is headquartered in Goregaon, Mumbai and has multiple branches across Mumbai. Since its inception, Phonickids has trained over 8,000 children to Read, Spell and Comprehend well in English. Phonickids has also trained over 2,000 Pre-primary Teachers and several mothers who wanted to learn Phonics to teach their own children.
